I went on a two-week short-term study abroad program to the UK and felt frustrated by my inability to speak English.
I dedicated my three years of high school to studying English and Japanese history.
Since I wanted to study other languages besides English, I enrolled in the Faculty of International Studies.
I had planned to study abroad in France, but the program was canceled due to COVID-19, and I had to give up on it.
To improve my speaking skills, I started interacting with international students in Japan who spoke English.
I met Christine, a tour guide, and we got engaged before graduating from university.
After becoming a working adult, I joined a trading company, but the long working hours were difficult for me, so I left the job.
Since Christine had previously worked as a tour guide, I decided to follow in her footsteps and started working as a guide myself.
Currently, I work mainly as a tour guide while also training both Japanese and foreign guides. In addition, I collaborate with cities facing depopulation issues through tourism initiatives.
